Greek Word Studies

Commencing our monthly Greek word studies in the New Testament, we will focus on unique or very rare words (those occurring only once, twice or three times). These words have been deliberately selected by the Divine Author, thus highlighting their particular importance. In some instances these words do not even exist in classical Greek, but have been created by the Holy Spirit, especially for the various purposes of God in revealing Himself to us through His words.

In highlighting and examining these rare words used by the Holy Spirit, and seeking to determine their proper meaning as used in the Scriptures, we aim to assist the believing sons and daughters of God in their Bible-studies.

[The quoted texts also show the emphasis in the Greek, as indicated by Rotherham’s Emphasized Bible. We indicate ‘emphasis’ by underscore, and ‘heavy emphasis’ by bold italics]
